If a death occurs at home:
When a death occurs at home, contact the Doctors Surgery that the deceased is registered with. The doctor will be able to verify that the death has occurred and advise whether a medical certificate will be made available.
Providing the doctor has given clearance, contact Collier and Brain Funeral Directors. We provide a 24 hour telephone service, so feel assured that your call will be personally answered. We will attend the home address at a time convenient to you and convey your loved one into our care.
If a death occurs in a hospice, hospital or nursing home:
When a death occurs at any of the above, contact Collier and Brain Funeral Directors. We will make arrangements with the hospice, hospital or nursing home to ensure all necessary documentation is in place and your loved one can be conveyed into our care.
The Coroner
Should the Coroner become involved following a death, call Collier and Brain Funeral Directors. We will be able to advise you on procedures and liaise with the Coroners office.
What happens next?
Once you have made your initial contact with us, we will make arrangements to visit you at home to discuss the funeral in greater detail. We can advise you on registration procedures and all options available to you.
